You will need:
- Clock
- 2 or 3- plastic canvas 7 mesh (26.5 cm x 34.5 cm)
- Dark brown yarn
- Lt Brown yarn
- Orange yarn
- White yarn
- black yarn
- Optional: 2 small round plastic canvases for the eyes
- Needle
- Scissors
- Optional: crochet hook for eyes
- Clock Owl Pattern (click to open) The actual size you will need will depend on your clock. You will have to adjust it if your clock is a different size from mine.
Directions:
- Cut out pattern pieces from paper
- Tape pattern head to body
- Test pattern on your clock to make sure you have the right sizes. adjust accordingly.
- Cut plastic canvas pieces using the pattern as guide.
- With the Orange yarn, using a continental stitch sew the feet.
- Use the dark Brown or black yarn to using a Straight stitch sew on the toe accents
- With the Lt. Brown yarn, using a continental stitch sew the middle of the wings (use picture as guide)
- With Dark Brown yarn, using a continental stitch sew the outside of the wings (use picture as guide)
- With Lt. Brown yarn, using a continental stitch sew the body and the middle of the head. (use picture as guide)
- With Dark Brown yarn, using a continental stitch sew the outside and ear tuffs of head. (use picture as guide)
- If using crochet eyes then click on link to go to directions Crochet eyes
- If using plastic canvas for eyes then using a continental stitch or a long stitch sew eyes in white with black or brown middle
- With matching yarn use an Overcast stitch to finish all edges of all pieces.
- Sew using a whip stitch or a running stitch Wings, Feet, and Eyes in place. (use picture as guide)
- Tie your Owl on to your clock. I tied mine on by going across both bottom to top and side to side around the battery case. Leave a piece of string to form a loop to hang him from.
